Obituary

MIDDLETON-David S. Christianson, of Middleton, passed away just shy of his 87th birthday, on Wednesday, July 4, 2018, at his home, surrounded by his family. He was born on August 25, 1931, in DeForest, the son of Edwin and Svenena (Brevick) Christianson. He married the love of his life, Eunice Schumann in 1952, in Marxville, and they enjoyed 67 years of marriage. After graduating from DeForest High School, David played Minor League Baseball with the Pittsburgh Pirates, before being drafted to the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He worked for many years delivering and selling for Hamm's Beer, until his retirement. David made friends everywhere he went and always had a story to tell. He was well loved and touched many lives. David thoroughly enjoyed anything outdoors, and spent as much time as possible hunting and fishing up north. He loved spending time with his family. His presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him. David is survived by his wife, Eunice; two daughters, Cyndie Hisel and Amy Miller; two sons, Jay (Liz) Christianson and Adam Malueg; his many beloved grandchildren; great-grandchildren; one great great-grandchild on the way; and many other dear relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, David Christianson; and son-in-law, Jorge Munoz Hernandez. Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON WEST FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 7435 University Ave., Middleton, at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, July 11, 2018, with Rev. Heather Hayward presiding. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 3 p.m. until the time of the service on Wednesday. The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to his daughter Amy, who devoted many years providing the best and most loving, around the clock care. They would also like to thank Heartland Hospice and his many aides at Senior Helpers who helped care for him over the years. Gunderson West Funeral & Cremation Care 7435 University Ave 608-831-6761

I will never forget the first time I met Dave. It was an intent connection. He was, from that point forward, Dad Dave. His larger than life smile and heart captivated me and I was simply in awe of his sincerity, compassion, and love. When he regaled me with all his hunting stories, I was amused and delighted. I simply enjoyed every visit with him and Mom Eunice. They always made me feel right at home. I know all of you will miss him so much. A great man has left these shores in pursue of other adventures awaiting him. But now, he gets to an Angel watching over each of you every day. My love to Mom Eunice, Amy, Cindy, Jay, Adam and the entire family. Know, without a doubt, that I send you much love and peace. I wish I could be there with you at his home-going celebration. Profoundly and in great sympathy, Chris Diggs
