I come from a line of strong women. Women with kind hearts that make their opinions known. Women that fight despite all the pain and tests life throws at us. You watched the love of your life fade away away over the years but continued to love and care for him until the end. You survived cancer. You got BOTH knees replaced in your 80s. Your whole life changed when grandpa passed and we know how much you missed him. Grandma, you fought til the very end. It brings me peace to know that your wishes were followed. I truly believe you knew you were being called away from this world. There were little clues that we're just starting to piece together. You knew. Though my heart aches and I still can't believe I'll never hear your voice again in this world, I hear your voice in my heart. One of the last things you ever wrote me was "You are one tough woman and the old saying is 'when the going gets tough, the tough get going.'" That phrase is going to keep me going in the tough times to come. I had such a great example of not letting the bad things in life take away the kindness in your heart. I only hope life's challenges lead me to show love and hope to others in the same way you did. Love you always and forever, Your sweet Lori Kay

I will always remember the times when Aunt Betty and Uncle Bill came to visit. Many times we'd grill hamburgers and hotdogs. There never seemed to be an end to the jokes and the laughter as family just enjoyed being together. Aunt Betty was a sweet lady.

Betty and Bill, along with their family were at Gloria Jean and my wedding back in 1969. The Armstrongs remained friends of ours through the years. My last memory of Betty was at my wife’s funeral two weeks ago. Betty came through the doors of Monona Oaks Church as she had done for many years, and in hugged her as I had done so often for many years. She was a great influence on Gloria Jean’s life, and on mine as well. What a genuine privilege to have known and shared life with Bill and Betty over these years. Phil Hubble
