I can't remember a time in the 30+ years I've been in this family when John didn't greet you with that warm, sincere smile of his. He made you feel like he would be there for you no matter what. He was so proud of his family and loved his farm. He was a conscientious friend, neighbor and citizen of his community. Maybe his heart gave out because it was just too big and full from all the love and kindness he possessed and shared with others. We will miss you, John

I have so many great memories of hanging around the farm with Uncle John. I think I must of road my bike 1000 miles going back and forth from our farm to their over the giant hill, past the killer farm dogs just to be around Rick and Johnnie. Uncle John would always have a simile no matter what piece of equipment was breaking, how many times the cows got out or how bad the harvest was. In all those years I never saw him upset or angry, always composed. He was a good husband, father and friend. I will miss him.

Uncle John, you are so special to me. I will never forget your jovial way whenever we saw you. Nothing ever brought you down. We all know that is because of the love of Christ in your heart. Today, you are dancing with the angels and breathing easy. You will be greatly missed by all of us who love you. Can't wait to see you in Heaven. Say hi to Grandma Mary for me. All my love and sympathies to the rest of my family.

This gentle man always had time for a smile and a hug, even though his responsibilities were many. I admired the way he treated everyone, with kindness and dignity. Uncle John, though tall was never intimidating, only gave you that feeling that you were always safe and protected around him. He approached even difficult times with a still, calm reassurance that everything would be ok. I am sure going to miss this very special guy that demonstrated that loving your family is top priority. I look forward to seeing you again and for all eternity, Uncle John!
