Ilse Marie Seeliger

POYNETTE-llse Seeliger, age 83, of Poynette, passed away on Thursday , June 21, 2018, with her loving children at her bedside.  She was born on Dec. 25, 1934, in Chicago, but grew up in New Lisbon where she graduated in 1952.  Ilse married Robert Seeliger, made their home in Monona and lived there until 1993, when they moved with their son, Thomas to Poynette. Ilse worked a variety of jobs and co-owned the popular Noble's Tavern in Monona. She worked numerous years at SBA, Good Year and retired in 1997, after an esteemed career at Forest Products Laboratory. An avid knitter and crochet artist, Ilse enjoyed gardening, cooking for family, wildlife watching, and was always up for an adventure. She will however be most fondly remembered as the hub of the family, the loving center of all holiday and family celebrations as we gathered around the counter. Ilse was always a devoted presence in her immediate and extended family's lives. Ilse is survived by her children, Thomas Seeliger, James (Kathy) Seeliger, Roxanne (Mike) Seeliger and Cindy (Peter) Diedrich; her grandchildren, Jason (Kelly) Seeliger, Jeremy (Elizabeth) Seeliger, Annelise (Ryan) Collins, Kevin Diedrich, Lucas Schwersinske and Loren Schwersinske; great-grandchildren, Cindel Seeliger, Connor Seeliger and Nora Collins; and her brother, Carl (Dorothy) Kaack. She was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Freida Kaack; and husband, Robert. Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 5203 Monona Dr., Madison, at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 30, 2018, with the Rev. Susan Schneider presiding. Burial will be at Highland Memory Gardens. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 9 a.m. until the time of the service on Saturday.
