Glenn Willard Subka

MADISON-Glenn Subka, age 94, of Madison, passed away on Saturday, June 16, 2018. He was born on Aug. 10, 1923, in Lincoln, Neb., the son of John Subka and Wilma (Ross) Subka. He served in the U.S Army during WW II. Glenn married Lois Subka on Dec. 7, 1956.  He worked as a painter for Subka Painting and Decorating.  Glenn loved his garden and had a green thumb. He loved fishing and his trips to Ho-Chunk casino, and was an avid Wisconsin sports fan. His greatest joy was his family. Glenn is survived by two daughters, Joni (Mark) Schwenn and Lori (Tim) Haack; two step-children, Douglas Shultz and Deborah (Ray) Wendlandt; 10 grandchildren, Justin, Marisa, Jordan, Kristi, Jenn, Shelly, Mike, David, Deanna, and Destiny; and 24 great-grandchildren, one of whom shares his birthday. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lois; parents; two brothers; and grandson, Douglas V. Shultz. Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 5203 Monona Dr., Madison, at 12 Noon, on Wednesday, June 20, 2018. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 11 a.m. until the time of the service on Wednesday. “Dad, you were strong and fearless and an inspiration to all.
