Sharon Marie Miller

MONONA-Sharon M. (Benisch) Miller, age 64, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 6, 2018, at Agrace HospiceCare, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on Dec. 25, 1953, in Madison, the daughter of Jerome and Mary (Denstedt) Benisch. She graduated from Sun Prairie High School in 1972. Sharon married the love of her life, Robert Miller on Oct. 1, 1983 in Monona. They gave life to two boys with whom they shared many family adventures. Sharon befriended many coworkers during her career in the life insurance industry until her retirement in 2016. She volunteered for the Monona EMS in the early 1980’s and continued to support the fire department until the time of her death. She was proud of her family’s commitment to public service. When she wasn’t making people double over in laughter, Sharon spent her time boating, cooking, walking her dogs, and fiercely loving her family.  She carried an intense sparkle and love of life everywhere she went. She brightened every room with her mischievous smile and spirited laughter. Sharon had an incredible talent for bringing people together and making them feel welcome. She always made room at her table or in her back yard. Her family would like to thank her from the bottom of their hearts for teaching them how to love unconditionally and for always being the life of the party. Sharon is survived by her husband, Bob; her two sons, Joe (Maria), and Sean; her father Jerome; three sisters, Sandy (Ron) Kreul, Sue (Randy) Hanson, and Diana (Alex) Mylonas; many loving extended relatives; and her second family at the Monona Fire Dept. She was preceded in death by her mother, Mary. Thank you to everyone who supported Sharon and her family during her courageous battle. A memorial service will be held at the EAST SIDE CLUB, 3735 Monona Dr., Monona, at 4:30 p.m. on Monday, June 25, 2018. A celebration of her life will follow until 9 p.m. Light food will be provided, and dancing shoes are encouraged.
