Obituary

MENOMONEE FALLS/MONONA-Lacy Blair, age 31, of Menomonee Falls, passed away on Sunday, June 3, 2018, at Aurora Zilber Family Hospice, surrounded by her loving family.  She was born on Dec. 9, 1986, in Madison, the daughter of Brian Ewers and Sue (Himsel) Ewers.  Lacy graduated from Monona Grove High School in 2005 and from Cedarville University in 2009.  She married Daniel, the love of her life, on May 28, 2010.  Danny and Lacy met in middle school. They were great friends throughout middle and high school and their romance blossomed during college. They were true soul mates and best friends. Lacy's husband, sons and family were her life. One of Lacy's passions was to be a stay at home mom. Her dream was fulfilled when her second son came along. Her boys received unconditional love, and it was natural for her to teach them all about joy, fun, crafting, gardening, music and the list goes on. She was an avid reader and especially enjoyed reading to her boys. She truly left her legacy in their hearts.  She loved to dance, and throughout high school was involved in the Nutcracker, high school musicals, and was also a part of the show choir.  Lacy was a Norwex Consultant and worked with the children's ministry at both Door Creek Church and WeatherStone Church.  When Lacy did work she made sure she was able to have her boys with her even if it meant carrying the baby in a front carrier. During the summers she enjoyed working at Sky Lodge Christian Camp.  Lacy had a close relationship with Jesus Christ and she shared the good news of His love with everyone, especially with her boys. Daily she could be heard reading verses with her boys and praying. Lacy and her cousins were inseparable. They could be found laughing, crying, conniving, playing and getting into mischief just as siblings do. Lacy was an only child, but she never thought of herself that way as her cousins were like her siblings. Lacy is survived by her husband, Daniel; sons, Liam (age 4), Noah (age 2) and Owen (age 5 weeks); her parents; mother-in-law, Michele (Skip) Sittig; father-in-law, Don (Dawn) Blair; sister-in-law, Katherine (Bryan) Davis; her other babies, her dogs, Duke and Maggie; and many other aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.  She was preceded in death by her uncle, Mark Himsel; and all of her grandparents.  Funeral services will be held at DOOR CREEK CHURCH, 6602 Dominion Dr., Madison, at 11 a.m., on Monday, June 11, 2018, with the Rev. David Ford presiding. Burial will follow at Highland Memory Gardens.  Visitation will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 5203 Monona Dr., Madison, from 3 p.m. until 7 p.m., on Sunday, June 10, 2018, and at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service on Monday.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be designated to the family for a memorial fund to be established for their boys, Care Net Pregnancy Center of Dane County or World Vision International.  Online condolences may be made at www.gundersonfh.com.  https://www.gofundme.com/lacy-blair039s-recovery-relief Gunderson East Funeral & Cremation Care 5203 Monona Drive 608-221-5420

Our hearts go out to the family and friends of Lacy. She made a lasting impression on those whom she met and who were fortunate enough to be her family and friends. May Daniel and their sons thrive with the love and care offered to them with the tragic loss of a young wife, mother, daughter, niece, and friend. Her life was too short. But it was a beautiful life because of all of you. Requiescat in pace/May she rest in peace. And may the family and friends of Lacy find peace and smiles in their hearts when thinking back on their memories of Lacy.

I taught Sunday school with Lacy and watched her shower love on her little Liam as she held Owen- then 4 weeks old in a sling. She tenderly loved her kids and it made me smile to watch her.

Lacy taught my son at KinderCare and she was one of the sweetest, best teachers. When I was going through a difficult time in my life two years ago, she always took the time to listen to me and offer comfort and support. I will be forever grateful for the kindness she showed me. She truly positively touched my life in the short time I knew her. My deepest sympathies to her husband, her beautiful boys, and her entire family and friends.

My heart breaks for the entire family. She was full of life and I so appreciated her desire to help her friends meet, know and follow Jesus. I was Lacy's youth pastor at Door Creek Church. My very first meeting after arriving at Door Creek was with Lacy and a few friends who came to me wanting to plan an event to introduce as many of their peers as possible to Jesus. Lacy packed a lot of life into a few years. She lived life to the fullest. John 10:10 I am praying for God's power and presence for Daniel, her boys, and the entire family. -Kyle Glenn

I first met Lacy through her future father in law Don. Such a sweet smile, cheerful demeanor and kind hearted. Her love of her husband and boys bubbled up when she spoke of them. I offer my sympathy and prayers to all those touched by this beautiful woman.
