Obituary

Aileen Mary Brown, age 87, of Lodi, WI passed away with her loving family by her side on June 4, 2018. She was born in Madison, WI on December 13, 1930. She was united in marriage to Raymond (Rocky) Brager on February 4, 1984. She was an active member of Dekorra Lutheran Church. Her faith and church family were always an important part of her life, she loved Pastor Ryan and his sermons. Aileen moved to Lodi and owned the Okee Snack Bar on Lake Wisconsin. She was on the board of the Mt Pleasant Cemetery Association, a member of ALANON, and the Legion Auxiliary. She loved being a clown for the Soon to Be Famous Lodi Band, and in recent years enjoyed going to the Lodi Nutrition center. She enjoyed bowling, playing cards, and continued to cross-stitch until Alzheimer’s took away her ability to count the stitches. She made beautiful Christmas stockings for all of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Aileen had a gift to make those around her feel special. She sent birthday cards to everyone she knew, and always took the time to hear about your life. She was one of those rare people that was always pulling for you, always your cheerleader and loved everyone unconditionally. She had the ability to love you “where you were at.” While others might judge, she picked you up, brushed you off, and told you, “you are worthy, I love you, and God loves you.” She loved hugs laughter, and a busy bustling house. Aileen will be welcomed into heaven with open arms, and will once again be whole; no more pain, heart failure, or Alzheimer’s to steal away her cherished memories. She will be missed by many family and friends. She is survived by her husband Raymond; six children, Gary (Cheryl) Kohl, Joleen Nelson (David Engel), Jackie McGinnity (Jim), Jeff Kohl (Diane Koepke), Steven Kohl (Amy), Theresa Valencia (Justo); Foster daughters Beth Wentworth, Kelly Tomko-Ewing, and Kim Schroeder; 23 Grandchildren: Keri (David), Dustin (Tamie), Danielle (Bill), Eric (Ashley); Tricia (Ben), Becky (Brad), Ronda (Jeremy), Debi (Dave); Chad (Christie), Jen (Matt), Dylan; Jacob (Brittany), Jamie; Amanda (Nathan), Kristina (John), Candice; Stacia (David), Landon (Cassidy), Aiden, Misael, Maite, Amy (Nette), Andrea (Eric)22 Great-Grandchildren: Kiana, Shane, Brandon, Lauren; Chloe, Stephanie (Mitchell), Hunter, Kenzie, Bella; Alexys, Paige, Sophia, Emma, Nolan, Alyssa; Raelyn; Rexton, Macy, Kinsley, David; Skylar, Vinny and special friends Robin and Dave Kinnunen. She was preceded in death by her parents, Aunts and Uncles, Cousins and Grandson Vicente Valencia.             A service will be held at 10:30 am on Thursday, June 7, 2018 at Dekorra Lutheran Church N3099 Smith Road, Poynette, WI with Pastor Ryan Rouse presiding. A visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 pm on Wednesday, June 6 at Gunderson Funeral home Lodi, and again on Thursday at Dekorra Lutheran from 9:30 am – 10:30 am until time of the service. Burial will be at Mt Pleasant Cemetery in Lodi, WI following the church service. A luncheon will be served at church immediately following the service and continue until the funeral procession returns.            A special thank you to Agrace Hospice care for all the TLC you gave Aileen and her family. We could not have fulfilled her wish of staying home through her final journey into God’s loving arms without your help. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Agrace Hospice Care or Dekorra Lutheran Church.  Our Family is a circle of strength and love With every birth and every union, the circle grows Every joy shared adds more love Every crisis faced together makes the circle stronger

Please accept our sincere sympathy to Jackie McGinnity and the entire family in the loss of your mother. We saw Aileen and Rocky at Lucy's a couple month's ago and always thought they were a beautiful example of the greatest generation. Many good memories from such a wonderful lady. What a beautiful lady. It was a treat being around her and to know her for all these years. Always had great advice. We should thank God for her being around us all these years. May all who feel the pain for her departure be comforted by her ever lasting memories.
