Obituary

MADISON- Donald Ray Gutweiler, age 85, of Madison, was reunited with his sweetheart, Ruth on Sunday, June 3, 2018, after a short but valiant battle with cancer. He was born on Dec. 30 1932, in Dodgeville, the son of Fred Gutweiler and Viola (Arneson) Yarish.  He was united in marriage to Ruth Cary on April 23, 1955, in Darlington.  They were married for over 60 years until her death in 2016.  Don worked as a lineman for MG&E for over 25 years.  Don is survived by his daughter, Marsha Schutze of Largo, Fla., son, Bradley Gutweiler of Sun Prairie; daughter of his heart, Dobie Gutweiler of Sun Prairie; grandson, Jaime Walker of Madison; granddaughter, Tanya Walker of Middleton; great-grandson, Givon Walker of Middleton; great-granddaughter, Kamea Walker of Middleton; sister, Kay (Pat) Werner of Lone Rock; brothers, Rodney (Donna) Yarish of Highland, Joseph Yarish of Avoca and William Yarish of Avoca; special friends, Marv Dunse of Madison and Larry Scott of Sun Prairie and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Ruth; and infant sister, Kathy Yarish.  Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, at 11 a.m. on Friday, June 8, 2018. Burial will be at Highland Memory Gardens.
