I extend my deepest sympathy to the family and friends of this truly Christian man. I treasure a memory of him that shines forth the special person he was. As editor of the Sunday School Page, I informed Dale that it was his turn to contribute something for the next edition. He humbly said, "Well, I wasn't very good in English in high school." I told him that he should just write from his heart and that I would edit it if necessary. When he humbly gave me his contribution, questioning if it was good enough, I read it and almost cried because it was so beautiful. I told him, "Not only is it good enough, Dale, it is so good that I will almost guarantee you that it will be picked up by the Synod magazine." It was.

Bethany and family,
I am so sorry for your loss. I have so many fond memories of days at your house as a child. Your dad was truly one of kind ; a gem in an otherwise selfish world. I will forever remember dairy queen visits and riding in the back of the big blue station wagon. I take comfort in knowing the he is now an angel spreading his love even further! Much love to you all
Always, Valerie Greene (Brown)

Uncle Dale has had and will continue to have a special place in my heart. Dale is a true Christian and male role model that I have admired since my early childhood. When I was a child, I recall vividly Dale taking the time with me to make sure that I would spend time learning scripture and the bible, material that was needed later on in Catechism Class. Dale would give me motivation at an early age so that each time I would see him, he would ask me to recite certain bible information that he earlier had assigned to me. Dale would pay me 5 cents for each time that I could recite commandments, passages, etc., that he had previously asked me to learn.
Dale had been the key driver to motivate me to become a better Christian, father and human being. I am forever grateful to Uncle Dale.
Keith.

My most heartfelt sympathies to Dale's family. While teaching kindergarten and 1st grade at Holy Cross Lutheran School for many years I witnessed Dale's many fix-it talents as he so faithfully helped maintain God's house and the school. He volunteered many hours of work as well as teaching Sunday School. Every spring he brought such delight to my students when he brought in huge arm loads of pussy willows from his home. Dale was certainly a blessing to many. Pat Becker

Dale was my favorite uncle. He never looked down on anyone. When my parents got divorced many years ago Toodie and Dale did not treat us any differently. But the rest of them did.
Dale was always sweet, loving and caring man.
I saw him decline over the past years but I still saw him as the loving man he always was. I am glad I took my mother and sometimes my kids to see Toodie and Dale. He is now at peace and I will see him again one day in heaven. I love you uncle Dale. You were the best! R.I.P.
