Obituary

MADISON-Sharon Marie Flanagan, age 72, died peacefully on Saturday, May 5, 2018, at Meriter Hospital due to congestive heart failure.  She was born on April 5, 1946, in Syracuse N.Y., to Bernard and Marie Flanagan. Her greatest gifts were her unconditional love and her sense of humor which she gave to her family, friends and those she encountered in her career as a compassionate care taker for the elderly for many years.  Sharon has exemplified strength, courage and the will to never give up. She is survived by her children, Suzanne (Randal) Alexander of Georgia, Scott (Tracy )Raven of Florida, Sherry (Dan) Schoer of McFarland, Steven (Amy) Raven of Madison and Randal (Janielle) Raven of Belleville.  She was delighted in sharing her time with her precious 16 grandchildren, Czachary (Becca), Nicolle, Whitney and Victoria, Jacob, Cassidy and Isabel, Brittany and Corbin, Devin and Mia, Shiloh, and Randy Jr., Reece and Jocelyn; six great-grandchildren, Lexi, Josiaha, Nyaha, Jordyn, Eva and Falyn; dear friends, Sue Seibel, Nancy Livingston, Sue Lombardo and so many more.  She was very active in the lives of her children and grandchildren, and enjoyed her time playing cards with friends at Greentree Glen and crocheting blankets for all her children.  Her Final wish was to be celebrate life with all her family and friends before her final journey. She was granted that wish a short three weeks ago and we thank all of those who attended and made memories that shall never be forgotten.  Another funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 5203 Monona Dr., Madison, at noon, on Friday, May 11, 2018.  Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Friday.  Memorials may be directed to the American Family Children’s Hospital, Madison Wis.  Online condolences may be made at www.gundersonfh.com. Suzanne, Sherry, Steve, Randy & Scott & family, My heart breaks for all of you with the loss of your mom. She loved you all and was so proud of each of you. A part of my heart went with her. She was a very special sister/friend for 67 years and I will miss our daily chats. She will be deeply missed.
