Pauline Maxine Fields

STOUGHTON-Pauline M. Fields, age 95, of Stoughton, passed away on Friday, July 6, 2018, at Skaalen Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.  She was born on Feb. 25, 1923, in Des Plains, Ill, the daughter of George Pond and Irene (Nelson) Pond.  Pauline graduated from Madison East High School.  She joined the Army Air Corps in 1945 and married James Fields Jr. in 1950.  Her family traveled with her while in the military and the children were born in all different countries, including the United States, England and Japan.  Pauline enjoyed bird watching, reading and doing crossword puzzles.  She was also very crafty and liked collecting dolls.  Most of all, Pauline was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who loved God with all her heart.  Pauline is survived by her daughters, Janice Lynn (Randy) Johnson and Denise Green; sons, Gary (Julie) Fields and Larry Fields; 13 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.  She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, James; son, Dale; brothers, George Pond, Chris Pond and Merill Pond; and sisters, Neva, Irene, LaVern and Florence.  Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON STOUGHTON FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 1358 Hwy 51 N at Jackson St., Stoughton, at 1:30 p.m., on Friday, July 13, 2018, with the Rev. James Koza presiding. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 11:30 a.m. until the time of the service on Friday.  Expressions of sympathy may take the form of memorial contributions to the family to be donated to Skaalen Home in Pauline’s memory.
