Obituary

DEERFIELD – Barbara E. “Barb” Hildreth, age 73, passed away peacefully at UW Hospital, surrounded by her family, on Wednesday, May 2, 2018. She was born on July 21, 1944, to Melvin and Evelyn (Gyland) Hubred. Barb grew up on the family farm and always resided in the Deerfield area.  She married Douglas Hildreth in 1980. Barb was a bookkeeper for several businesses, including co-owning Doug’s Tire Service with her husband. Her greatest pride and joy were her children and grandchildren. Barb enjoyed thrift store and antique shopping to add to her collections. She was also an avid gardener and a talented quilter. Barb is survived by her husband of  37 years, Doug; son, Darren (Cathy) Reinke; two daughters, Tracy (Joe) Marick and Lisa (Chris) Czech; eight grandchildren, Alyssa and Dylan Reinke; Karsten (Jessica), Ethan (Michelle), Joshuah, and Caleb Marick; Emily and Derek Czech; her first great grandchild, Greyson Jorden Marick who was born on May 7, 2018; her mother, Evelyn Hubred; three brothers, Mel (Frannie), Ronald (Sue), and Kim (Kae) Hubred; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and her cat “Kitty”. She was a wonderful and caring daughter, mother, wife and grandmother, as well as a generous and thoughtful friend. She was preceded in death by her father, Melvin Hubred Sr., several aunts, uncles and other relatives. A Celebration of Barb’s Life will be held at ST. PAUL’S LIBERTY LUTHERAN CHURCH, in the Education Center, 3494 Oak Park Rd, Deerfield on her birthday, Saturday, July 21, 2018, from 12 p.m. until 3 p.m. In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, contributions may be made to the church or Agrace HospiceCare, 5395 E. Cheryl Parkway, Madison, WI 53711. Our deepest appreciation goes to the excellent staff of Oak Park Place and UW Hospital.  If Roses Grow in Heaven If roses grow in Heaven Lord, please pick a bunch for me. Place them in my Mother’s arms and tell her they’re from me.  Tell her I love her and miss her, and when she turns to smile, place a kiss upon her cheek and hold her for awhile.  Because remembering her is easy, I do it every day, but there’s an ache within my heart that will never go away.   Gunderson East Funeral & Cremation Care 5203 Monona Dr. (608) 221-5420
