GATES MILLS, OHIO- Martin J. “Marty” Degnan, age 72, passed away on Thursday, April 26, 2018, in Madison, Wisconsin. He was born Jan. 19, 1946, to Daniel and Frances (Flannigan) Degnan in Toledo, Ohio. Marty graduated from St. Francis de Sales High School, Toledo, Ohio and the University of Toledo College of Law. He was the former Vice President and Associate General Counsel for Rubbermaid and Vice President, Secretary and General Counsel for Anthony and Sylvan Pools. Marty was a long-time supporter of The Village Network, St. Francis de Sales High School, and a long-time member of St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Church. He gave generously of his time to a variety of charities and boards and was a lover of literature, photography, painting, and music. He also enjoyed singing with his church choir. Marty is survived by his daughters, Dara Degnan and Angela (James) Mowrer; sisters, Darrah Degnan and Elaine (John) Fallon; brother, Daniel (Lynn) Degnan Jr.; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Anita (Pizza) Degnan; and his grandparents. A private committal service will be held at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Wooster, Ohio, followed by a private celebration of life.
