I did not know Gen but I knew her son Neil and I just want to let her know what a "wonderful" son
she raised. Neil was very close with his mom and sister and showed such respect for his mom.
I, also. know Mary Hauser, Neil's wife. Mary talked a lot of Gen and how "independent and kind she was" How she loved her family, faith and country. Neil passed away from brain cancer that he got while serving in the front lines in Viet Nam where Agent Orange RAINED down on him.
Gen showed no bitterness but was so proud of him.
May we all have the dignity of Gen in our older years and not sweat the small stuff.

To the family of Mrs. Hauser.
Please accept my deepest condolences for the loss of Mrs. Hauser. I arrived as a faculty member in Plant Pathology in 1968 and my office was on the same floor as Mrs. Hauser, where she operated an efficient stock room for the Department. Besides keeping excellent records she was always so welcoming to faculty, staff and students. I also had many interactions with her as prepared the materials for the laboratory in Introductory Plant Pathology, which I taught. I will always remember her as a warm and caring person. Our Department was fortunate to have her outstanding services for many years.
