OREGON-John A. Shea, age 73, of Oregon, passed away on Thursday, April 12, 2018. He was born on Oct. 12, 1944, in Sparta, Wis., the son of Allyn and Beatrice (Anderson) Shea. John married Jeanie (Gillen) Shea on Aug. 19, 1978, in Rockton, Ill. He graduated from Sparta High School in 1962. John liked to garden, drink some beers with his family and friends and go fishing, especially trout fishing. His greatest joy was spending time with his family and friends. John worked at the VA Hospital for 34 years and worked as a medic for the Vietnam War for three years. John is survived by his wife, Jeanie of almost 40 years; four daughters, Cindy (Scott) Schultz, Sherri (Bob) Thompson, Penny Lamb and Becky (Steve) Arttus; sister, Linda (Ross) O'neil; two brothers, Tim Shea and Dale Shea; 11 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents, Allyn and Beatrice Shea; and brother, Richard Shea. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. JOHN WAS A GREAT FRIEND &BROTHER IN LAW,JOHN WAS ALWAYS THE LIFE OF THE PARTY,I DON T THINK I EVER SEEN HIM MAD. HE WAS A GREAT HUSBAND TO MY SISTER,A GREAT FRIEND! Jeanie, It is with great sadness that we learned of John's passing. We had so many great conversations in our younger years that still make me smile. We didn't always agree. I remember you leaving the room during some of those times. He was a good guy always willing to help. We are so sorry for your loss and wish you peace during this difficult time. I am saddened to hear of Johns passing. Prayers for you and your family during this difficult time. I am very pleased that 3 weeks prior we had a chance to have lunch and a beer with John. He was always a happy go lucky guy and pleasure to be a friend. He will be missed.
