Obituary
MADISON-Carmen Elizabeth Gasser, age 85, of Madison, passed away at home on Wednesday, April 11, 2018. She was born on Aug. 31, 1932, in Richland County, the daughter of Matthew and Blanche (Small) Jasper. Carmen graduated from Cazenovia High School. She married her high school sweetheart, Phillip Gasser on April 28, 1952, in Germantown. Carmen worked as an Assistant Plant Manager for Swiss Colony until her retirement. She was a devoted catholic and member of St. Dennis Catholic Church, and VFW Auxiliary Post No. 7591, and the Dayettes. Carmen loved to gamble, sew and attend the children’s sporting events. She was an incredibly loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and will be deeply missed. Carmen is survived by her husband of almost 66 years, Phillip; children, Colleen (James) Taylor and Mark Gasser (Debbie Kaltenberg); grandchildren, Erin (Andrew) Cason and Danielle (Jeremiah) Daley; great-grandchildren, Taryn Stephens, Devyn Cason, and Jeremiah and Jackson Daley; and brother, Sylvester “Bud” Jasper. She was preceded in death by her parents; and son, Steven Gasser. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at ST DENNIS CATHOLIC CHURCH, 505 Dempsey Rd, Madison, on Monday, April 16, 2018, at 11:30 a.m., with Fr. Randy Timmerman presiding. Visitation will be held at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service on Monday. Carmen will be laid to rest at Highland Memory Gardens.
