Obituary
OREGON-Peter Lawrence Macaluso, age 74, of Oregon, passed away on Thursday, April 5, 2018 at the Wisconsin Veterans Home in King. He was born on Sept. 17, 1943, in Milwaukee, the son of Peter and Florence Macaluso. Peter married Marilyn Hintz on Sept. 28, 1968, in Madison.He was active in the U.S. Army and proudly served in the Vietnam War. Peter went on to obtain a master's degree in criminal justice from the University of Louisville and advanced to Sergeant with the Dane County Sheriff's Department. Peter enjoyed hunting, fishing, reading, history, traveling and his dogs. He especially enjoyed his annual fishing trip with his cousins. Peter was an active member of the American Legion and the Italian Workman's Club. He was a very strong willed, intelligent man, with a truly positive outlook on life. Peter is survived by his wife, Marilyn; daughters, Cristina (Ryan) Murphy and Cathleen (Chris) Cooper; sister, Marguerite Traino; and his beloved grandchildren, Elena, Bob, Curt, and Gavin. A Prayer Service will be held at GUNDERSON OREGON FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 1150 Park St, Oregon, at 12 Noon, on Saturday April 14, 2018, with Father Gary Wankerl presiding. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 11 a.m. until the time of the prayer service on Saturday. Memorials may be gifted in Peter's name to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society at www.nationalmssociety.org. The family would like to express our sincere gratitude to the staff of the WI Veteran's Home at King, 4th floor Olson Hall and to his cousins, who were very special to him.

Dad, in my mind we’ll always be playing HORSE or PIG in the driveway or catch in the backyard with Sandy as the outfielder! I’ll remember riding on your motorcycle or in the corvette. I’ll remember Brewer games and the thrill when you let me re-load shotgun shells. These are the things I’ll hold onto.
