Rose Marie Willmann

MADISON-Rose M. Willmann, age 82, of Madison, passed away on Wednesday, April 4, 2018, at Agrace HospiceCare. She was born on April 28, 1935, in Sigel, Wis., the daughter of Arthur Otis and Mary Ann (Pelot) Smith. Rose married Karl in 1965, in Wisconsin Rapids.  Family was her biggest priority, next came charity, and followed by her love for her students. Rose devoted much of her life to providing resources to the women of Tanzania. She mentored many students and children through the Madison Metropolitan School District, especially through the gifted and talented program. Rose was artistic and crafty, always keeping her hands busy, usually with something charitable. In 2010, she made hundreds of rosaries to send to the women in Tanzania. Rose is survived by her husband, Karl; daughter, Miriam Rose (Tom Simpson) Willmann; son, Karl (Eva Marlowe) Willmann Jr.; brother, Arthur (Sherry Roseman) Smith; sister, Kathy (Jack) Gronski; and sister-in-law, Beatrice Smith. She was preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Stanley Smith. Funeral services will be held at ST. MARIA GORETTI CATHOLIC CHURCH, 5313 Flad Ave., Madison, at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, April 11, 2018, with Father Robert Evenson presiding. Burial will be at Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be held at GUNDERSON FITCHBURG FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 2950 Chapel Valley Road, Fitchburg, from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Tuesday, April 10, 2018, and also at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Wednesday.
