Obituary
OREGON - Olaf C. Stokstad, age 78, of Oregon, passed away on Thursday, Sept. 12, 2024. He was born on Feb. 21, 1946, in Stoughton, the son of Joseph and Agnes (nee Peterson) Stokstad. Olaf was raised on the family farm in Oregon, Wis., where he continued to live for the rest of his life.
Olaf and his brother, Harley, alongside their wives, Kay and Barb, kept the Stokstad dairy farm prospering until 1999 when health changes forced them to make the decision to sell their dairy herd. Olaf continued to farm as well as explore opportunities outside the farm for a few years.
He eventually found a way to work for Klondike Farms in Brooklyn, Wis. Olaf was able to continue his love for farming without the stress of ownership. Olaf was beyond proud to be able to work for Klondike Farms.
Olaf is survived by his wife, Kay; daughters, Kris Stokstad and Jill Stokstad; and son, Kevin (Jen) Stokstad; grandchildren, Nicholas, Nathan, Milla, Richard and Irene; siblings, Janet Gentry, Harley (Barbara) Stokstad, Karen (John) Syens and Milla (Joe) Lunders; sister-in-law, Phyllis Larson; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Agnes; brothers-in-law, Richard Epley, Gene Larson and Charles Gentry.
A memorial service will be held at FIRST LUTHERAN CHURCH, 310 E. Washington St., Stoughton, at 1 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 20, 2024, with Pastor Sara Ehrets presiding. Visitation will be held at the church from 12 noon until the time of the service on Friday.
