Obituary
MADISON-John Elliott, age 94, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 29, 2018, at Milestone Senior Living in Stoughton. He was born on July 4, 1923, in Orion, Wis., to James and Viola Elliott. In September 1946 he married the former Rosemary Ann Pedder and they made their home in Madison. John served as a Medic Aidman in the U.S. Army’s 50th General Hospital from 1943 until 1946, in Normandy. Upon returning home, he went to work for Oscar Mayer as a ham processor until his retirement in 1985. John loved to watch any Wisconsin sports, but was especially fond of Badgers football and the Green Bay Packers. He would’ve been happy to know that the Brewers won their first three games of the regular season. John also enjoyed fishing and hunting, and hunted with his son, Mike until the age of 82. John is survived by his children, Lisa Priesing, Barb Kilgore, Lynn Elliott and Michael (Gail) Elliott. He is further survived by a sister, Orpha Subola; sister-in-law, Joanne Pedder; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Rosemary; his parents; an infant son; three brothers; two sisters; and other relatives and friends. Per John’s wishes, private services will be held at Roselawn Memorial Park Chapel. Rest in Peace, Dad. We love you and will miss you. Online condolences may be made at www.gundersonfh.com.
