Obituary
SUN PRAIRIE/McFARLAND- Clark Luessman left us on Thursday, March 15, 2018. He was born in Berlin, Wis., on March 12, 1963, the son of Donna and James Luessman. Clark graduated from Poynette High School in 1981 and attended UW River Falls, graduating with a degree in education. He married Louise Palmer in 1991. They were blessed with James, Jack and Anna, who were the loves of their life. Clark was inducted into the UW River Falls Athletic Hall of Fame, a member of the University of Minnesota Golden Gopher Football coaching staff, as well as UW Platteville Football Coaching staff under head coach, George Chryst. Clark’s love of sports led him to be involved in many other sporting organizations. He was the current Assistant Athletic Commissioner for the Badger Conference. Clark started his teaching career as an elementary/middle level teacher in Platteville, Wis., and moved onto River Falls, Wis. He started his administrative career as the Associate Principal for Indian Mound Middle School and at that time made McFarland their home. Over the next 18 years, Clark continued to progress as an administrator in the Sun Prairie School District filling the role as principal of Patrick Marsh Middle School, where the school was recognized as the Wisconsin Middle School of Excellence. He was a finalist for the 2012 middle school principal of the year. Clark served as interim Assistant Superintendent and was planning on opening the Token Springs Elementary School this fall. Clark will be remembered as a mentor and role model to all the lives he touched. Clark enjoyed being involved with his children’s daily lives and activities. He was humble, supportive, caring, awesome, and loving, which was apparent in everything he did. Clark was his kids’ biggest cheerleader and would do anything for anyone. Clark is survived by his wife, Louise (Palmer); his children, James, Jack and Anna; mother, Donna Luessman; sisters, Cathy (Bob) Mielke and Carrie (Roger) Stoltenberg; and many nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles and cousins. He was further loved by the entire Palmer family and his best friend, Bailey. He was preceded in death by his father, James Luessman; and his grandparents. A visitation will be held at PATRICK MARSH MIDDLE SCHOOL, 1351 Columbus St., Sun Prairie, from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m., on Monday, March 19, 2018 with a Time of Reflection at 8 p.m. A memorial service will be held at WINDSOR UNITED CHURCH OF CHRIST, 4434 2nd St., Windsor, at 11 a.m., on Tuesday, March 20, 2018, with a visitation from 9:30 a.m. until time of service. In lieu of flowers, family request memorials to the Clark Luessman Memorial Fund for scholarships assisting future educators at Sun Prairie, in care of McFarland State Bank.
