Obituary
MADISON- Lucy E. (Heiderscheit) Bloom, age 70 of Madison, passed away on Saturday, March 10, 2018, at Agrace HospiceCare. She was born on July 31, 1947, in Holy Cross, Iowa, the daughter of Aloysius and Loretta (Ruden) Heiderscheit. She was united in marriage to Wayne N. Bloom in 1977. Lucy was very proud of her military service. She was a reliable and enthusiastic “go-to” at Shopko, where she worked for nearly 20 years as a supervisor. She was a dedicated parishioner at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church. Lucy was an active volunteer for church events, she found great experience and joy in lifting others up and lending a helping hand. She was a talented cook, and skilled knitter and crochet artist. Lucy sought peace and paradise out in her garden and hours spent canning her seasonal fruits and vegetables did not go unappreciated. Her greatest achievement however, was her family. Lucy was proud of her children and grandchildren, she loved to love them. Lucy is survived by her sons, Lee Bloom and Shane (Penny) Bloom; daughters, Kimberly (John) Yates and Jennifer (Henry) Johnson; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sisters Margaret Welbes, Mary Beecher and Kathy Heiderscheit; brothers, Ed, Nick, Dale and John Heiderscheit; and many nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne; parents; and brother, Philip. Funeral services will be held at IMMACULATE HEART OF MARY CATHOLIC CHURCH, 5101 Schofield St. Monona, at 11:30 a.m., on Thursday, March 15, 2018, with Fr. Chad Droessler presiding. Visitation will be held at the GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 5203 Monona Dr. Madison, from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m., with a rosary prayer beginning at 7 p.m., on Wednesday, March 14, 2018, and also at the church from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the service on Thursday. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be gifted to Our Lady of Hope Clinic, 6425 Odana Rd., Madison, WI 53719. Online condolences may be made at www.gundersonfh.com.
