Obituary

STOUGHTON-Angela M Schuller, age 56, of Stoughton, passed peacefully on Friday, Feb. 23, 2018, surrounded by her loving family.  One of Angela’s favorite pastimes was reading the newspaper; the obituaries were her particular favorite. She loved to imagine the lives of the people memorialized in the obituaries and what their lives were like. In honor of this, we would like to paint you a picture of the person Angela was, notably her warm smile and spunky sense of humor. Angela was born in Chicago, Ill. to Kathryn Bajner and has three sisters; Sherri (Tony) Paternostro (deceased), Kristi (David) Martin, and Rosanne (Brian) Boi. They grew up getting in trouble with the nuns at the Catholic school and spent their summers camping and fishing for Muskie. Kristi and Angela had to share a bed, and Kristi annoyed her nightly, always coming up with “one more thing” to talk about, and waking her up when the clock read 12:34. Angela married the love of her life, Larry, on Sept. 29, 1990, in an intimate backyard ceremony at their home in Stoughton. It rained that day and she cried but chalked it up to good luck. The rain stopped just as she was about to walk down the aisle. That rain must have been good luck because their marriage lasted over 27 years and was quite the testament to love and devotion.Angela and Larry celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary with an adventure-filled trip to St. Lucia. They kept their love alive with weekly “Friday Night Date Nights,” going out to dinner every week. Their married life was never boring; there were many adventures, including living in many states along the way. Angela even agreed to move to Coudersport, Pa., which is not quite the end of the world, but you can see it from there. As a result, each of their three children were born in a different state. Angela’s first daughter, Theresa (Dan) McGuire, is the typical first born. Angela taught Theresa the art of the perfect Cabbage and Dumplings. She found a new level of love when her granddaughters, Haddie and Hannah were born. The girls and “Mimi” (as Haddie called her), loved to read books together. Mimi embraced her role as grandma by not so gently sharing unsolicited parenting advice at any opportunity. Claire (Dexter), Angela’s second daughter, is the typical middle (self-declared favorite) child. They shared a close relationship that went beyond mother/daughter; they were friends. They spent time watching (crying over) their favorite shows and cooking together. Claire unfortunately got Angela’s “talent” for applying mascara in the messiest way possible. Leo, the first and only boy (yes, they were trying for a boy), is the typical baby of the family. Angela entrusted Leo to cook her famous recipes: Polish Mistake, Brain, and Garlic and Goat Cheese, at Christmas. They often stayed up late bonding and watching Criminal Minds. Sherri's daughter, Stefanie (Kendell) Stewart, was not only Angela’s niece, but like a daughter and friend to her. They spent a lot of time together, doing nails (when Angela finally stopped chewing them), and chatting about life. Angela is also survived by many other loved relatives and friends. Above all, Angela shared laughter and her contagious smile wherever she went. She was the center of the family and was generous to others. She enjoyed volunteering, gave blood often, delivered Meals on Wheels, and liked to donate to charity. She loved to sew and was an avid reader; medical suspense fiction was her favorite.  Angela’s kitchen window was filled with bird feeders. She enjoyed identifying her avian visitors, especially the hummingbirds and cardinals. She planted flowers every Mother’s Day but struggled to keep houseplants alive. Her love of chocolate was eclipsed only by the love for her family. Her cup of coffee with peppermint mocha creamer and a coconut sparkling water were never far away, as she read the daily newspaper in her spot on the couch. We know she’ll be smiling in heaven as she reads her own obituary, in her pajamas and slippers, surrounded by our family dogs who preceded her. Don’t worry about us, Mom, we’ll be “Just Ducky.” We love you and promise to “Make someone smile” every day. A celebration of Angela’s life will be held at GUNDERSON STOUGHTON FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 1358 Hwy 51 N, Stoughton, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Friday, March 2, 2018.  A private family service will be held at a later date.  Online condolences may be made at www.gundersonfh.com. My wife, my partner, my best friend. We met when you were working as an intern at a lab with my sister-in law Pat (Gary). She thought you would be a great person for me to meet, you came up to meet me over a week end and we began dating. In addition to being stunned by your good looks ( you were definitively out of my league) I admired your strength and determination. In the fall of 1990 we were married in a beautiful back yard ceremony at our home in Stoughton. I will never forget how beautiful you looked on that day, you took my breath away. The three of us began our lives together in a little red brick house east of Stoughton. Then Claire came along and we were four. We had a lot of good times with friends and family living in that little red brick house. I will always cherish those memories. After few short years there I whisked you, and our 2 daughters to the picturesque, but very remote Coudersport Pennsylvania. You adapted well to the Coudersport lifestyle and gave birth to our son Leo like a mountain woman (as the nurse declared you). You showed me your incredible strength and grace again when I stranded you in Coudersport for 11 months when I took the job in Chicago. I left you with 3 small children in a house I had just converted to hot water heating from burning wood. You handled everything at home and continued to run your business. Yet greeted me with open arms when I was able to come back home. For that I will be forever grateful. After a short stop in the suburbs of Chicago we came to our final landing back in Stoughton. A lot has happen to this house we purchased here and a lot has happen to us. We watched our three wonderful children grow and strike out on their own. Much life and love has happened in this house we built together. As the house grew so did our love, we loved each other through the good and bad times. This past year, you again showed me your incredible strength and grace as you battled cancer through 8 months of treatments and multiple operations that left you wheel chair bound. You were finally starting to gain your strength and feel better. We were beginning to see the light at the end of a long tunnel. Then so quickly, our hopes were dashed and I lost my best friend. I treasure our life together and I will always treasure your love. Good bye my partner, my companion, my love . You will always be in my heart.

Wow, I just found this 1&1/2 years too late. Angela and I were best friends growing up. We lost contact after Angela marred and move away. I have so many great memories of Angela, Donna, and the whole Miloch family. Such sad news, Sharyn Lange Austermuehle
