Catherine Theresa Maier

CROSS PLAINS-Catherine Theresa (Reisinger) Maier, age 93 ½, passed away on Friday, March 2, 2018, with her family by her side.  She was born on Sept. 22, 1924, in Spring Green to Alois and Theresa (Roth) Reisinger.  On June 20, 1944, she married the love of her life, Werner Maier at St. John’s Catholic Church in Spring Green.  Together they first farmed in Cross Plains before establishing their own farm in Mazomanie.  Catherine is survived by her six children, Elaine (John) Kurt of Arizona, Rosetta Otto of Lodi, Charlie (Sony) Maier of Oostburg, Joan (Charlie) Haack of Cross Plains, Roy (Sheila) Maier of Mazomanie and Laura (Kent) Schumann of Dodgeville; 14 grandchildren, Douglas (Sarah) Otto, Alan Otto, Pamela Otto, Tadeo and Misha-el Maier, Michael (Tammy) Haack, Brian Haack, Travis (Tracy) Haack, Nicholas (Tami) Haack, Candice (fiancé, Josh Sanderson) Maier, Mason Maier, Eric (Alyssa) Schumann, Emily (Jed Limbach) Schumann, Elliot Schumann; 14 great-grandchildren, Audra, Joseph and Rose Otto, Serena, Amber and Addison Haack, Scott and Aiden Haack, Grayson and Emerson Haack, Henry Jennings, Owen Haack, and Evelyn and Wesley Schumann; twin sisters, Clara Pertzborn and Ann Maier; sister, Helene (Venance) Dederich; sisters-in-law, Kay and Lucille Reisinger.  She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Werner on Dec. 31, 2002; her son, Lawrence; son-in-law, David Otto; sisters, Sister Mary Bede, Marie (Tom) Dischler and Mathilda (Francis) Bindl; brothers, Albert (Ann) Reisinger, Herman (Emily) Reisinger, William Reisinger, Alois Reisinger, Joseph (Leona) Reisinger, Edward (Maurita) Reisinger and John Reisinger; and brothers-in-law, Jack Pertzborn and Albert Maier.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at ST. FRANCIS XAVIER CATHOLIC CHURCH, 2947 Thinnes St., Cross Plains, at noon, on Tuesday, March 6, 2018.  Visitation will be held at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the Mass on Tuesday.
