John was a dear friend who I shared many songs with in barbershop circles. His great sense of humor, infectious smile and positive outlook on life brought out the best in everyone. He has left a lasting legacy

John and my husband Fred Hinesley shared a love of Barbershop, walking (early in the morning at conventions), corny jokes. Theirs was a long time friendship. They first met at Harmony College, which both regularly attended annually. I will miss knowing that his smile and voice are with us.

It was a great honor to sing next to Johnny all those years. I never heard a cross word from the man. I will miss him
