Obituary

MADISON-Enid C Maloney, age 93, of Madison, passed away on Friday, Feb. 23, 2018, at St. Mary's Hospital.  She was born on Jan. 20, 1925, in Chicago, Ill., the daughter of Berthold and Irene (Grimshaw) Siewerth. She married Patrick Maloney on March 14, 1953. Enid loved children, at different times in her life she ran a Brownie troop and a Cub Scout troop. Later in life she opened a day care facility in her home. Enid loved her family, and spoiling her granddaughter Amber.  She loved animals and to travel around the country to stay with many friends over the years. Enid was fortunate to see many of the United States most beautiful landmarks and parks, including the Grand Canyon and other features of the Southwest. She had a keen eye for collectibles, amassing many treasures, especially her cows on parade, Kachina dolls, Kokopellis and Barbies. The family had many happy memories on their yearly travels to Disney World, which she loved as much as the children. Enid is survived by daughter, Laurie (Armund) Bartz; two sons, Brian (Mary) Maloney and Kevin Maloney; granddaughter, Amber Maloney; Amber's Mother, Linda Maloney; and cousin, Jeannie Hishler. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Patrick D. Maloney; and two brothers, William Siewerth and Donald Siewerth. Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 5203 Monona Dr, Madison, at 3 p.m. on Friday March 2, 2018, with Steve Zwettler presiding. Burial will be held at Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 2 p.m. until the time of the service on Friday. To the Maloney Family: Enid was a child care provider for my son, Steven Zeeh in 1984-1985. She was a fabulous second mother to Steve at that time. She helped put him on a path of excellence ! In fact he is now Dr. Steven Zeeh of Denver, CO. Laurie, you taught him to say "Pretty Laurie" LOL. We have many fond memories of Enid. When she found out that Steven's favorite food was any kind of soup she used to make hime fresh homemade soup every day because canned was not healthy enough! Hello Family: My family lived on Amsterdam Avenue, just 4 houses from Enid.—-1109 Amsterdam. I had many opportunities over the years to visit with her at her. . I just wanted to acknowledge that she was a lovely lady in our neighborhood for many years! Nancy and Marty Endres
