LODI-Kathy Crary went to her eternal rest unexpectedly on February 17 due to a fatal arrhythmia. She was born on May 11, 1955 in Fargo North Dakota to Dale and Norma Schoephoerster. Kathy graduated from Lodi High School in 1973 and married her high school sweetheart Steve Crary on June 8, 1973. She is survived by and will be deeply missed by her husband and her children, Becky (Dale) Gray and their two daughters Ashley and Allison, and her son Andy (Mandy) Crary and their children Anna, Ben and Cade. Kathy is further survived by Allie Schoephoerster; sisters, Ginny Qualmann, Bonnie (Pat Plaisted) Augusta, Sandy (Gary) Colby and brother, Chuck (Lynn) Schoephoerster. She is also survived by in-laws, Chuck (Gloria) Crary, Carol Sekorky, Jim Crary, Ray (Kris) Crary, Adele Crary, Steve (Diane) Schroeder and Wayne (Anita) Crary. Kathy ran an in-home daycare while her own kids were growing up.  After that she pursued her passion in the medical field.  She worked over 25 years as a Certified Medical Assistant in the Lodi area and more than 20 years at the Lodi Medical Clinic.  Kathy cherished her time with all of her co-workers and loved her job meeting and caring for people. Kathy was an active member of First Lutheran Church in Lodi where she was a member of the Altar Guild and played in the Bell Choir. She loved to spend time with her friends and family, especially her five grandchildren.  She made every effort to attend all of their games and concerts.  Her many hobbies included sewing, crafting, knitting, cooking and baking, and reading.  She enjoyed sharing all of those hobbies with her grandchildren. It was a common sight to see Steve and Kathy on walks through town, often hand-in-hand.  Biking was another hobby they enjoyed together.  Steve and Kathy loved to travel.  Their most recent big trip was an Alaskan cruise last fall.  Other trips just to “get out of town” were more often.  She also looked forward to “Ski” Weekend, Girls Weekend, Sisters Weekend and her trips to Texas. Kathy had a passion for life.  She saw the good in everyone and always hoped others would do the same.  She was always kind, positive, and loved to have a good time with her family and friends. Those who knew and loved Kathy, feel a tremendous loss and already miss her immensely. Our lives will not be the same without her. Funeral Services will be held at FIRST LUTHERAN CHURCH, 206 Pleasant St., Lodi, at 11 am, on Friday, February 23, 2018 with Pastor Michael Lee presiding. Burial will be in County Line Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church on Thursday, February 22, 2018 from 4 pm to 7 pm and again on Friday from 10 am until the time of the service. There never was a kinder, more nurturing soul. Aunt Kathy met Weston a little over a year ago, and he loved her the instant he met her, just like everyone else in this world.

I have no words that can express the depth of sorrow adequately to Steve, Becky, Andy and the rest of the family. No words were necessary when Kathy was involved. Her actions always spoke for her. She cherished her family and friends and they responded in kind. As for favorite memories, there are so many, here are just a few: holiday get-togethers, birthday parties, nights out, nights in, sledding parties, Halloween costumes, wine and beer tastings, GPS malfunctions, wet phone remedy, festivals, game playing, and trips together of which there was to be so many more.

Please except my heartfelt condolences to Kathy's family. I have been a patient of the Lodi clinic for 20 years and Katby has always been a very important part of the clinic and a very compassionate person. Sje was always so very happy and smiling. She will be missed by all.

This kind, beautiful, caring and wonderful woman babysit me when I was a little boy, and her sisters and brother remember this story well. While Kathy was watching me I fell down a set of cement stairs and to this day Kathy would always say that is why I am who I am because of her. I believe her! Kathy I love you so much and you will be miss by so many people that you touched their lives just like mine. Steve, Becky and Andy you all are in my thoughts and prayers! Ginny, Sandy, Bonnie and Chuck I send you all hugs, love and positive energy.
