Obituary
MADISON-Lucille I. Ernst, age 87, passed away peacefully on Sunday, Jan. 21, 2018. She was born on Nov. 12, 1930, in Racine, to Ralph and Goldie (Johnson) Pedersen. Lu learned to play the piano and wanted to be a kindergarten teacher. Instead she married her sweetheart William Ernst on Dec. 29, 1951, in Racine. Lu taught piano for 35 years, and was the pianist for Faith Baptist Church and Buckeye Evangelical Free Church. She worked with Pioneer Girls Club, served as a Republican Poll Worker and was a member of the Christian Women's Club. Lu loved Jesus, missions, music, sewing, table games, bowling, Badger and Packer games, nature, looking classy, and entertaining. We honor her for fiercely pursuing truth and excellence, and for her compassion and generosity. Lu is survived by husband, Bill; son, Eric (Marlies) Ernst; daughter, Ellice (Richard) Dunsterville; brother, Rev. Steven (Kathy) Pedersen; sister-in-law, Lois Pedersen; 6 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Lu will be missed,
When Lu and Bill moved from our neighborhood it just wasn't the same. We have missed you. Lu brought sunshine to all of us! During the summer when the windows were open we could hear the piano - wonderful for all of us.
Our sympathy to Bill and family.

I have many fond memories of attending church with Lou and Bill at Faith Baptist. We had lots of laughs when we bowled together on a church league. Lou was a sweet, kind and gentle person whose friendship I cherished. She was a great pianist and always put 100 percent in anything and everything she did. My sympathies and prayers to Bill & family. Druscilla Carr
