I'm so sorry for your loss. I have such warm memories of both your parents—always so kind, welcoming me into your home and making sure I was well-fed. Not long ago, I had the opportunity to do the final building inspection on your family home before it went up for sale. It brought back so many memories. I especially remember your dad always working on the house, constantly fixing and maintaining things. He was so practical and resourceful. I’ll never forget when he offered to paint my bike for me. I was ready to pay someone else to do it, but he said, “Don’t do that—I can do it for the cost of the paint.” And he did. That gesture really stuck with me. Your family—and your dad in particular—had a big impact on me. I’ve carried a lot of inspiration from those experiences, and from all the thoughtful, diligent ways he approached life. I hope he rests in peace.

Tief berührt haben wir vom Tode eures Vaters erfahren. Auch wenn uns geographisch ein großer Ozean getrennt hat, war er seinen Cousins doch stets nah- in Gedanken, in Erinnerungen an gemeinsame Besuche und durch die Briefe, die wir gemeinsam teilen. Sein langes Leben war erfüllt von Würde, Güte und Verbundenheit, und wir sind dankbar für die Momente die wir teilen durften. In dieser schweren Zeit möchten wir euch unser herzliches Beileid aussprechen. Möge euch der Trost begleiten, dass er ein erfülltes Leben hatte und in den Herzen vieler Menschen weiter lebt.
