MONONA/BELOIT- Kimberly Rae “Kim” Boyd, age 52, of Monona, passed away peacefully on Thursday, Feb. 8, 2018, at her home surrounded by her loved ones after a short and sudden battle with cancer. She was born on July 23, 1965, in Madison, to Everett “Red” and Dorothy “Dot” (Horton) Bronson. She was born in Madison, however she grew up in Beloit, where she attended Beloit Memorial High school and met her high school sweetheart. She went on to attend Blackhawk Technical College and UW- Rock County. Kimberly married the love of her life, Roy Boyd, on June 10, 1988 in Beloit. Kim then moved back to Monona, to be near her parents and to raise her children. She worked as a pharmacy technician at Shopko Pharmacy in Monona for almost 24 years. This was not a job or career, but her life passion.  Kim spent her extra time volunteering in any capacity she could, including church, hospitals and her children’s and grandchildren’s schools. She was a wife, a mother, grandmother, sister, friend, aunt and neighbor to everyone she knew. Kim loved with everything in her and dedicated her life to serving Christ and spreading His Word wherever she went.  She is survived by her husband, Roy Boyd; her children, Brandon (Danielle), Bridget, and Olivia Boyd, as well as her grandchildren, Kamiah, Keon and Desmond, all of whom she loved so much. Kim is also survived by her mother-in-law, Gertie Harris; brother, Jim (Diane) Bronson; and sisters, Sharon Bronson, Jackie (Rod) Spors and Jean (Jim) Kossow. She leaves behind many close cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, friends, co-workers and neighbors. She was preceded in death by her parents, Everett and Dorothy Bronson, as well as her older brother, Jeffrey Bronson, who passed away in 2015, from cancer. Kim adored her brother and was determined to carry on his legacy. Throughout her life, she also left behind her own legacy of love, compassion, faith, acceptance and the best sense of humor. Kim’s final wishes were to be cremated, and to have a celebration of her life. Kim’s Going Home Celebration will be held at FOUNTAIN OF LIFE CHURCH, 633 W. Badger Rd., Madison, at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 24, 2018 with Pastor Kevin Evanco presiding. Visitation will be held from noon until the time of the service on Saturday.  Memorials may be gifted in Kim’s name to the Fountain of Life Children’s Ministry, Agrace HospiceCare or UW Carbone Cancer Center, Wisconsin Chapter.  A special thank you to niece, Briana for her dedication and love.  “God saw that she was getting tired  And a cure was not meant to be So he put his arms around her  And whispered “come with me” With tearful eyes we watched her suffer  And watched her fade away Although we loved her dearly  We could not make her stay A golden heart stopped beating  And a warm hands laid to rest God broke our hearts to prove to us  That he only takes the best."
