Helen Emily Biederman

MONONA-Helen E. Biederman, age 97, of Monona, passed away on Tuesday, January 30, 2018 at Oakwood East Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was born on April 28, 1920, in Madison, the daughter of Frederick and Marie (Punzel) Albrecht.  Helen graduated from Marshall High School, and married Donald Biederman on Nov. 8, 1941, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, in Marshall.  Helen worked as an administrative assistant for Monona School District.  She enjoyed spending time at their cabin in Mercer and traveling with her husband, Donald.  Helen is survived by her son, Steven (Mickey) Biedermann; daughter, Wanda (Rodney) Maass; grandchildren, Traci Maass, Tina (Dale) Small and Laura (Fran) Pilon; four great-grandchildren, Kathryn and Alayna Small and Kierstin and Edward Pilon; and many loved family members.  She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Donald; grandsons, Christopher P. Maass and Aaron J. Biedermann; and five brothers and sisters.  Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 5203 Monona Dr., Madison, at 12 noon on Friday, Feb. 2, 2018, with the Rev. T. Brent Walsworth presiding. Private burial will be held at Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the service on Friday.  Memorials may be made to St. Judes Children's Hospital.
