Obituary
MADISON- Bruce H. McLean, age 76 of Madison, passed away on Thursday, Jan. 25, 2018, from complications due to Parkinson’s disease. He was born on June 21, 1941, in Rochester, Minn., the son of Rob and Doris McLean. Bruce graduated from John Marshall High School in Rochester, Minn., in 1959. He continued his education at Minnesota State University, graduating in 1965, with a bachelor’s of science degree in business administration. Following graduation, Bruce worked his entire career for Brown Shoe Company of St. Louis, Mo. Bruce was an avid and exceptional chef who could transfer the contents of the barest pantry into a feast. He enjoyed the process of refining a good recipe to perfection. His greatest enjoyment came from cooking for those he loved. His love of food and wine led him on many culinary adventures. Bruce is survived by his wife of 52 years, Jacklyn; brother, Jack (Marge) McLean of Richmond, VA; sisters, Judy (Ray) Bush of Grinnell, Iowa, Roberta (Tom) Schroeder of Seattle, WA., Janet McLean of La Crosse, Wis.; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son, Michael John; and his parents, Bob and Doris McLean. In keeping with Bruce’s wishes, no services will be held. Jackie would like for those who cared for Bruce, to raise a toast in his memory. Memorials in Bruce’s name may be made to Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Parkinson’s Foundation or Capitol Lakes Foundation. Online condolences may be made at www.gundersonfh.com.

Certainly saddened to read of Bruce's passing. What a wonderful man. The Good Lord certainly has a great one now. It was a blessing to get to know both of you and the time spent with both of you will never be forgotten. Bruce certainly added something very special to my life and because of both of you I am blessed to share those special thoughts with others.
Well, there must certainly be outstanding food and wine in heaven or Bruce would have been back by now.

Jackie, I was so sorry to hear of Bruce's passing. My parents, Fred and Phyllis Martin, owned the Baraboo Bootery in Baraboo, WI. Bruce represented a number of Brown lines over the years. We always looked forward to his visits each season. He was a kind and wonderful gentleman.
