Obituary
MADISON-Michael Johnson, age 67, passed away on Monday, Jan.15, 2018, after a lengthy illness. He was born Jan. 3, 1951, in Detroit, Mich., the son of Mr. and Mrs. Malcolm Johnson. Michael attended Central High School in Detroit before relocating to Madison, where he obtained his GED and eventually received an associate degree in real estate from Madison College. Later he furthered his education by attending the UW-Madison. Mike’s mother; a sister; a brother; and several family members preceded him in death. He leaves behind in Madison to celebrate his life, his loving church family; and a special friend, Shirley Drunasky. Mike was loved by many in his community. A celebration of life will be held at ARBOR COVENANT CHURCH, 2509 McDivitt Rd., Madison, at 12 noon, on Saturday, Jan. 27, 2018. Visitation will be held at the church from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the service on Saturday.

I had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Johnson as a nurse and am saddened to hear I won't be seeing him anymore. He was such a pleasant man and we had many a laugh. He will be sorely missed! May his beautiful soul rest in peace. Condolences to those who loved him, which I'm sure is many!

Mike and my Mom Shirley have been friends for at least 40 years. My husband and I were on vacation in August, and stayed with Mom a few days in Madison. The three of us spent an afternoon with Mike sightseeing in Madison, and later eating at one of their favorite Mexican restaurants, Pedro's. Mom is grieving the loss of her best friend. They spoke on the phone just about every day, and spent time together during the week, going out for lunch, a movie now and then, and a lot of time just talking and enjoying each other's company. Mike will definitely be missed, but thank the Lord he left behind a legacy of memories, he is no longer suffering, and Mom will see him some day in eternity!

Mike grew up in Detroit, and I lived there for four years. When I worked with him were able to talk about the places and streets that both of us knew. I spent a lot of time with him doing repairs and working as ushers at the church. He will be missed as a friend of mine and many others. I knew him fir many years. Richzrd Lindgen
