Harry J Krueger

MADISON— Harry J. Krueger died on January 2nd, 2018 at the age of 85. Harry was born in Milwaukee, and attended West Allis Central, graduating in 1950. He went on to serve honorably in the U. S. Army for two years before attending the innovative Layton School of Art in Milwaukee (now the Milwaukee School of Art and Design). Upon graduating, Harry began a career as an interior designer that would span six decades. In 1960, Harry moved to Madison, and founded his own interior design firm, H. Krueger & Associates in 1969. An adamant believer in the principles of good design, Harry’s positive impact was far-reaching, touching numerous Madison institutions and influencing many other design professionals in the area. Harry treasured the close relationships he formed with his clients, and many of them became life-long friends. Harry will be remembered for his willingness to lend a sympathetic ear to his friends, his laughter, quick wit and gregarious nature, his love of good food and drink, his passion for fine automobiles, and his deep appreciation for lake living. Harry is survived by his three children, and was predeceased by his wife, Kristin, in 2002. A celebration of Harry’s life will be held Saturday, January 6, 2018, at 11:00am at GUNDERSON WEST FUNERAL HOME, 7435 University Ave, Middleton with a reception to follow.
