Obituary
MADISON-Christopher Leigh Zabrowski, of Madison, formerly of Milwaukee, passed away on November 28, 2017 at St. Mary’s Hospital. Chris graduated from Wisconsin Lutheran High School and went on to pursue various ventures in life. Chris was a trained chef and opened up the infamous nightclub, “Jabberwocky” in West Allis in 1978. Here he went on to raise his two children, Amanda and Zeke. He then moved on to the real estate market where he became a real estate broker and contractor. In his final years he founded “Z Realty” and was the official PR representative for Morgan’s Bar and Grill. Chris was best known for his incredible culinary skills, his outrageous stories and animated gestures and facial expressions. He dominated every room he walked into with his larger than life personality and his trademark, head back laugh. Most importantly he touched every life he came across and his heart was too big for this world. Chris is survived by his children, Amanda and Zeke, whom he love more than anything in this world; his siblings, Pat, Tim, Tom, Jack and Jenny and a ton of family and friends. There will be no viewing since his children refuse to honor his request to have him sitting in the corner of the room wearing sunglasses with a glass of vodka in his hand and a leftie in his mouth-so he would appear natural to visitors. On a serious note, these would be some of Chris’s final words of wisdom. “I commend my loved ones to the protecting arms of God, knowing He will continue to provide for them despite my absence. I encourage them to place their faith and trust in Him alone. And don’t forget to work hard but always play harder.” A Memorial Celebration will be held at 1 p.m. at SAINT ANDREWS EVEVANGELICAL LUTHERAN CHURCH, 6815 Schneider Road (corner of HWY 12 and Schneider Road), Middleton on Tuesday, Dec. 5, 2017 with the Reverend Randy Hunter presiding. A Memorial Gatherine At Morgan's Bar & Grill, 8640 Mineral Point Rd, Pine Bluff from 3 -6 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to his children to help with funeral expenses.

I remember you throwing your head back laughing and getting everyone around you to join in . What an incredible child we were blessed with in Amanda . She has your same spirit and will carry it with her always . Party on Chris ....I’m sure the angels are joining in right now . How could they not ?

Where to start? I met you about August of 1980 at West Allis Office Supply, Chris you were shopping for poster supplies for the Jab... we became fast friends and I truly loved you like a brother, you and your brother Tom. I will miss your laugh, your smile, your stories and of course all of the silliness. I can not believe Heaven requested such a young angel but I get the desire to have you... Now you are with your folks and many friends.
I asked my son Terry to greet you and show you around but not to let you get into too much mischief just yet. All I can say is I know all of us here will miss you greatly ! Watch over your loved ones and help them to find some peace. Sadness is a part of saying good-bye until we meet again and tears are a part of the deal too! Many hugs and prayers to your family and friends, love to you on your journey home and look for me some day at the gates: I will be the smart ass who tells Saint Peter that I am old "enough" to get in...
Miss you already Topher... dear friend

Chris was always smiling and laughing every time I saw him. He always gave such a big hug.He was willing to help others and volunteer his time. He was generous. He helped me buy my first house for a miniscule amount of what the true commission was. He entertained and cooked and always made everyone feel welcome in his home. A religious man with high standards of decency and compassion for others. A heart of gold. He will be missed by all who knew him.

Chris was a major influence on me as I was going through a divorce situation. He took me into the Jabberwocky Family and helped me to move forward in my life. The friends I made there and the healing process that got me straightened out was a gift that continues to keep on giving....I admired how he connected with people and how he used the barter system to get business done. Chris was a true leader and I'll never forget him.

As Sinatra sang, ‘I did it my way’. That was Chris’s mojo. He LIVED! We are gonna miss his spirit. I’ll bet he has already found Frank, two fingers and three cubes.
