Obituary
MADISON-Audrey J. Gausmann, age 65, of Madison, passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 21, 2017. She was born on June 7, 1952, in Madison, the daughter of Rollin and Joyce (Liddicoat) Gausmann. Audrey volunteered at the Library, Middleton Village, the American Red Cross, and Mount Olive Lutheran Church. She loved the companionship of her cat, Angel. She will be remembered for her big smile and wonderful sense of humor. Audrey is survived by her mother, Joyce; sisters, Gwen (David) Freiberg, Bev Schilz, Diane (Tom) Kemper and Candice Gausmann; brothers, Steve (Patty) Gausmann and Ronald Gausmann; god-daughter, Arica Schilz; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Rollin; and brother, Daniel Gausmann. A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, Nov. 24, 2017, at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison. A visitation with light refreshments will be held from 9:30 a.m. until 11 a.m., with the service to follow. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions will be made by the family to Agrace HospiceCare and the Dane County Humane Society. The family would like to thank the staff at Country Meadows Apartments, Mr. Mike Alioto and Pastor Jason Zobel for their years of caring and support.

I've had the pleasure of knowing Audrey for 25 plus years. I will forever think of her and her well thought out shenanigans on April fools day. I'm sorry I won't be able to attend the service. Keep on smiling Aud's we will miss you!

We knew Audrey in the 1980s when she was married to Mark Middleton. Audrey and Mark visited us in California and we attended the Rose Parade in Pasadena. Audrey was a kind lady and we feel blessed to have known her. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Audrey’s family.

Audrey attended Mt. Olive Lutheran Church where I enjoyed many pleasant conversations with her. She had a kind and sweet heart and a welcoming spirit. Several years ago she and I would join a few others for Sunday lunch after worship. Her smile and laugh added joy to those times. Even though her cat was "Angel" - she, herself, was an angel in our midst. I miss seeing her but have memories for a life time. God grant comfort and peace to her family and friends.
