MILWAUKEE-Rhonda May Ione Steele-Atasi, age 47, of Milwaukee, passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 28, 2017, at St. Joseph's Hospital. She was born on May 8, 1970, in Madison, the daughter of Ronald and Carol (Knapp) Steele. Rhonda graduated from LaFollette High School. She was a Girl Scout throughout high school. Rhonda was very fitness and health conscientious. She loved listening to music (especially the BeeGees), camping and traveling. Rhonda was very artistic, resourceful, creative and loved to write. She was a very down to earth and good hearted person who loved her family, especially her daughter, Najwa. Rhonda is survived by her daughter, Najwa Leah Atasi; mother, Carol; brothers, Ron (Mary) Steele Jr., Shawn Steele and Jonathan (Tina) Steele; nephew, Zachary; nieces, Madeline and Victoria; ex-husband, Mohamed Atasi; and many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Ronald Steele; two grandfathers, James (Charlotte) Knapp and William (Alice) Steele; uncle, James Knapp; aunt, Susan Dalsoren; and cousin, Bradley Knapp. Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 5203 Monona DrIVE, Madison, at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 6, 2017, with the Rev. Sandra Schieble presiding. Burial will be held at Highland Memory Gardens. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 11:30 a.m. until the time of the service on Wednesday. Memorials may be made to Dane County Humane Society or hospice of their choice.

I can some what remember Rhonda singing "MaMa He's Crazy" by "The Judds" at Aunt Carol's and Uncle Ron's 25th wedding anniversary. I thought it was so cool and brave of her! My mind isn't what it once was so if I am mistaken please correct me. RIP Sweet Angel.

I remember that Carol & I had a birthday party for our daughters ~ Rhonda & Tammy ~ at Ella's Delis ~ We ordered a punch bowl full of scoops of ice cream ~ within minutes these girls decided to have an ice cream fright ~ ice cream was everywhere ~ Carol & I were so embarrassed ~ surprisingly we did not gat asked to leave ~ Aunt Sharon Knapp loves you & will miss you always
