Rosemary Catherine Larson

SUN PRAIRIE- Rosemary C. "Rosie" Larson (nee Brausen), passed away on Monday, Nov. 27, 2017, surrounded by her loving family. Rosie was born on the Six Mile Creek in Westport on June 15, 1934, to Joseph and Mary (Corcoran) Brausen.  On Sept. 19, 1959, she married the love of her life, Ted Larson.  Together they raised five children in a loving and laughter filled home.  Family always came first to Rosie, whether it was working together in the family floor sanding business or just spending time together.  She taught us all how to show love and care for one another. Spending time with her kids, grandchildren, great-granddaughter and extended family was her favorite thing to do.  Frequent Brausen family get-togethers were some of her most cherished times.  She loved to cook and bake and loved sharing those talents generously with family and friends. Rosie was a longtime member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Cottage Grove where she organized the monthly coffee and donut social for 25 years. Rosie is survived by her children, Jean (Patrick) Wohlers, Geri (Tim) Imberg, Bill (Stacey) Larson and Jim (Amy) Larson; her grandchildren, Elizabeth (Justin), Kaitlin (Brad), Ben (Kelsey), Jessica, Jack and Taylor; great-granddaughter, Mallory; sister, Janice Ellingson; brother, Ed (Janet) Brausen; and many nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Theodore ‘Ted’ Larson; daughter, Lynn Larson (survived by Rick Axtman); sister, Kim Haack; and brothers, Bernie, Hank and Art.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at ST. PATRICK’S CATHOLIC CHURCH, 434 North Main Street, Cottage Grove, at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 2, 2017, with Father Michael Tarigopula presiding. Burial will be held at Highland Memory Gardens.  Visitation will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 5203 Monona Drive from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 1, 2017, and at the church from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the Mass on Saturday. The family would like to thank Peggy Weber for her spiritual guidance and support. We would also like to thank the 5 East nursing staff at St. Mary’s Hospital for the loving, beautiful care of our mother.
