Obituary
STOUGHTON-William John Buss, age 55, of Stoughton, passed away at home on Tuesday, Oct. 31, 2017. He was born in Brooklyn on Oct. 2, 1962, the son of Wayne and Joan (Johnson) Buss. The family moved to Stoughton where he attended school with the Class of 1981. Bill married Erica (Kittelson) Buss in 1985 and lived in Stoughton for most of their marriage. Their daughter, Jenna Kay, was born in 1988 and their son, Ryan John, was born in 1990. Bill loved his kids and lived for his family, especially his two-year old grandson, Braden John, whom he cherished and often stopped in between jobs while in town just to visit. He had a work ethic like no other. Bill started learning the concrete business trade with N&N Cement when he was a teenager. He worked for various other companies before starting his own business in 1999. Eastside Concrete Construction, LLC, began with a pickup truck, an old bobcat and limited funds. Bill grew that business until he took a break in 2011, to “retire” into trucking that lasted about six months, and he was right back in the concrete business. He was proud of the relationships he formed with his contractors. Bill is survived by his mother, Joan; wife, Erica; children Jenna (Dan Seamonson) and Ryan Buss; grandson, Braden Buss; sisters, Katie Buss Vandenhouten, Kari (Randy) Roneid and Kelly Buss; and brother, Wayne “Dewey” Buss. He is further survived by Erica’s family; mother-in-law, Jackie Kittelson; brothers-in-law, Steve (Lori) and Todd (Diana) Kittelson; many nieces, nephews and greats that he loved; special cousin, Lori (John) Arias and their daughter, Amanda in California; and other cousins. Bill was preceded in death by his father, Wayne; grandparents, Ted and Gladys Johnson, Forest and Catherine Black, and William and Amanda Buss; father-in-law, Tilfred Kittelson, Jr.; uncles, Marvin Buss and Gerall Monskey; and aunt, Shirley Dahle. Bill was an amazing person who worked hard and loved deeply. He often liked to get the last word in, or had a smart comment for something. Bill liked the phrase, "It's easier to ask for forgiveness than permission." He lived life to the fullest and was an example to all. Rest peacefully, Bupa, God took the best. Bill was an eye and tissue donor and potentially helped 75-100 people with his gift. Bill requested a Celebration of Life party when he passed, so we are honoring his request at AMERICAN LEGION POST 59, 803 N. Page St., Stoughton, on Saturday, Nov. 18, 2017, from 3 pm until 7 pm. The family would like you to bring along a memory of how Bill helped you or something special you remember him by. They are saving the memories for his grandson, Braden, to share with him when he gets older.

The name Bill Buss is like saying the name John Wayne. Ruff & tuff on the outside but a heart of gold on the inside. He was a man of honesty and integrity the old fashioned kind. A hand shake, smile, and a good laugh was common meeting with Bill. I think he would travel the earth to move mountains if he had to, just to help a friend out. Bill will be forever missed by many. My heart goes out to Erica & family. Lean on one another with friends & family at this difficult time, we will all be there. Keep Bill's memories & traditions alive and he will never be truly gone. I have never meet anyone like my father. He was the greatest man I'll ever know. Dad I just want you to know how lucky I was to have the time I did with you and how lucky I was to be able to call you my dad. I won the jackpot of dad's. I really did. I miss you so much already. I love you dad

I have had so many great times with him, I gave him a death ride in a demo car with Tim Vike chasing us in the woods & we got out laughing so hard. One time his mom came in so we could check out her Tahoe because Bill & Erica were going to use it to drive to Milwaukee, so I called him up & teased him that he needed mommy's car, well he didn't use it after I teased him. There were so many times that was just laughing about stuff, I am going to miss him stopping by the shop just to b.s. & I am going to miss the guy I could turn to for advice. He told me many things that I use every day, like he told me" that they don't put a trailer hitch on a hearse", meaning - give back & pay it forward. He was like a big brother to me & I am going to miss him a lot. Joe Conant

I remember the day I met this guy. He was tough and I was sure scared of him but he opened up to me with his big heart. Bill was not a guy to mess around with but he would do anything for his friends and family. I will miss seeing his smiling face at the shop. We all loved him like a favorite uncle. I will never forget about the stories he shared with us about him and my dad that made us laugh so hard I almost peed and Russell was rolling in the lawn laughing so hard. He will surely be missed and I can't wait to see you again Bill❤😢. Brooke vike

Dear Joan and family, I am so sorry to hear this. I have such fond memories of my brother Mike and I getting to go over to our neighbors The Busses house to play with all the kids. Our deepest sympathies to you and your family.
