Earl G German Jr.

MIDDLETON-Earl G German, age 75, of Middleton, passed away on Monday, Oct. 30, 2017, at Agrace Hospice. He was born on April 19, 1942, in Elmira, N.Y., the son of Earl and Nell (King) German. Earl was employed as a Counselor with Family Service, Madison, where he helped those in need as a drug, alcohol and gambling addiction counselor for over 25 years.  He was an active member in the Madison recovery community for over 25 years. He tried to live by the principles of AA, that teach, the path to peace & serenity was to accept life on life's terms, and to keep gratitude in your attitude. As his health declined, he lived by these words. Earl enjoyed music of all kinds, especially the Blues.  He enjoyed junking and had amassed quite a collection of unique treasures. He was a lover of people from all walks of life. He loved to speak about history, stories of the south and was passionately driven to create justice where he witnessed inequity. His stories, laughter, friendship, and character will be dearly missed. Earl is survived by his daughter, Sarah (Chris) Servais and his son, Jesse (Taryn) German. A Memorial Gathering will be held at the Orpheum Theater, 216 State Street, Madison on Sunday, November 5th from 2-4pm. Special thank you to Christine Robinson! Your love, comradery, and friendship was a Godsend in the most challenging of times for dad. We cannot express enough how much your presence delighted dad. Also, Agrace Hospice for your prompt delivery of skilled and compassionate care given to Earl in his final days.
