Roxanne is so dear to so many people including my family and me. We are traveling back from FL for Thanksgiving and will not make it back in until Monday so unfortunately will miss the event on the 19th. These are a few thing I will remember Roxanne for: She was my first friend when I arrived at the Madison SSA office and made me laugh and defended me when I was the new Service Rep in the office. She watched my daughter Emily at my home when I went to a training class in Chicago to be a claims Representative for many weeks. Emily loved Roxanne staying with her and has many fond memories that she still remembers. She came to many family gatherings including my retirement and gave a little talk and she said "Linda taught me to read the PHUS (Social Security term). Roxanne came to the Madison house and brought lunch and stayed and visited with Dad and Mom after Dad's surgery when I had to return to IL for work. Even though theyhad not seen Roxanne for awhile, of course they remembered her. Roxanne, you can now sit in Heaven with them and chat a bit. They will be happy to see you. She called me often when I moved into management and we had wonderful deep conversations. She shared her heart. One time early in our career the Area Director came to town and we were all invited out for drinks at tbe end of the day. Roxanne amd I went together and to our surprise it was only the Manager and Area Director. Roxanne and I would leave to get drinks or use the restroom as often as possible and we laughed so hard. She said we were like Geisha Girls serving those two old coots. We laughed and laughed and then we would come back to the table and try to be serious and professional. She was the first diverse friend I had and I used a story about Roxanne in the Diversity Training I gave later in the Region. I can still here her saying "Linda, Linda, Linda in her Spanish dialect. Needless to say, I and my family will miss Roxanne. She is a unique, vibrant soul that is cracking everyone up in Heaven. So many wonderful memories!
