Jeanette I Ebert

EAST BRISTOL/SUN PRAIRIE-I was born on March 30, 1924, the daughter of Edward and Mary (Weisensel) Scheuerell, and died at age 93 on Saturday, Nov. 11, 2017.  I attended Sacred Hearts Catholic School, graduating from their Catholic High School. I then helped my parents on the farm for a few years, driving tractor and doing field work. I was also a waitress and cook for a number years. On Aug. 24, 1943, I married Reuben Ebert. We farmed together for some 40 years in the Columbus area, raising our seven children.  In 1981, we retired to our home in Sun Prairie, where I worked at the St. Albert House for 25 years, as well as doing volunteer work for the parish. In my spare time, I crocheted afghans and baked pies, cookies and cakes, many of which I gave away.  I am survived by my sons, David (Sue), Douglas (Bonnie), Gregory (Sandra) and Gordon (Sally); my daughters, Nancy (Tom) Stehlik, Lynette (Dennis) Kosobucki and Mary (David) Lynch; as well as many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.  I was preceded in death by my parents; my husband, Reuben, in 1991; my daughter-in-law, Cindy Ebert; my brothers, Bob and Clem Scheuerell; and my sisters, Valeria Suchomel, Estelle Jesberger and Marie Yelk.  A Mass of Christian burial will be held at ST. ALBERT THE GREAT CATHOLIC CHURCH, 2420 St. Albert Drive, Sun Prairie, at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 15, 2017, with Monsignor Donn Heiar, Father Larry Bakke and Deacon Joe Stafford concelebrating. A luncheon at the church will follow.  Visitation will be held that the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the Mass on Wednesday. A private burial will take place at East Bristol Cemetery.  I wish to thank Monsignor Larry Bakke for his friendship and prayers through the years. I also thank the doctors at Dean Clinic-Sun Prairie, especially Dan McGarry for his kindness and excellent care.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of your choice or to St. Jude's Hospital.   “Thank you mom for all you did for us.  Say “hi” to Dad and Cindy.  Please rest in peace.”
