Obituary
JOSHUA, TEXAS/MADISON-Timothy Charles Egan, 65, of Joshua, Texas, passed away Monday, Nov. 20, 2017. He died in the comfort of his own home surrounded by his family. Tim attended St. Patrick's Elementary, Schenk Elementary and Junior High, and graduated from Robert M. LaFollette High School, Madison, in 1971. He enlisted in the U.S. Army in September of 1971. After his service, Tim began his career at Oscar Mayer in Madison, in 1974. Years later, he finished his career at Miller Brewing, Fort Worth, Texas, retiring in 2015 after 30 years. Tim had an uncanny ability as a mechanic that amazed many. He was always able to figure things out or repair them. Tim was a huge car buff to say the least, and a die-hard Green Bay Packers fan, having attended two super bowls. His greatest hobby was buying, building and restoring classic cars, along with always being willing to help a buddy with theirs. In his youth, Tim played hockey at the local outdoor rinks in Madison. He also enjoyed drag racing, participating for several years in the 70's and 80's. After moving to Texas, Tim became a big country music fan including nights out "boot scootin." But his true passion was his grandchildren, spending as much time with them as possible. He is survived by his siblings, Michele Blackman (Dennis), Dan Egan (Kathy Knapp), Tom Egan, Kathi Egan Heath and John Egan; grandchildren, Ashton Blanton, Timothy Weekley and Connor Jimieson. Tim was preceded in death by his parents, Lavonne Egan and Stephen Egan; and his daughter, Tina Egan Weekley. Visitation will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL & CREMATION CARE, 5203 Monona Dr., Madison, from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m., with a time of sharing remembrances at 6 p.m., on Thursday, Nov. 30, 2017. Following the remembrances, friends are invited to join the family at Tully's II, 6401 Monona Dr, Monona, 53716. Burial with Military Honors will be held at Blooming Grove Cemetery, on Pflaum Rd, next to LaFollette High School, at 1 p.m., on Friday, Dec. 1, 2017.
