Obituary
MADISON- Arden Elmer Marotz, age 90, of Westfield, Wis., passed away, on Wednesday Nov. 1, 2017, surrounded by his loving family. Arden was born to parents Edward and Anna Maria (Stark) Marotz, on May 19, 1927. He had 7 siblings, Leo Marotz, George Marotz, Reinhold Marotz, Alfred Marotz, Elaine Judas, Lorena Gerbitz and Marian Floeter. He was united in marriage to Berniece May Heiman, and the couple was blessed with two children. Arden worked for UW Veterinarian Sciences, as the Herdsman on the UW farm, until his retirement. Arden was a sweet man of few words. When he wasn’t working, he loved fishing and hunting. He was easy going and friendly to all, he got pretty serious when he sat down to play cards at a Euchre table! Arden is survived by his daughter, Coni Marotz (Mike Zirkel); and his son Tim Marotz (Maureen Nartowicz). He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Bernie Marotz; and brothers Reinhold, Alfred and George. As per Arden’s wishes, no service will happen at this time. Dear Coni and Tim I am so sorry to read about Arden leaving us. I have so many fond memories working with him at the farm for many years. He worked with many faculty members and was always very helpful to the graduate students with their research projects. He provided great service to the Department of Veterinary Science. Whenever I drive by on Mineral Point Road, I think of him and can always "see" the house and the barn. Barney Easterday
