Trudy J Arvold

FITCHBURG-Trudy Jo Arvold, age 64, passed away from natural causes on Wednesday, Nov. 1, 2017, at her home. She was born on Sept. 14, 1953, in Rhinelander, Wis., the daughter of Norman and Marjorie (Wahlberg) Arvold. Trudy graduated from Madison LaFollette High School and furthered her education at Madison College with a lifelong goal of becoming an AODA counselor. She worked in the legal field for many years until the birth of her daughter. A sun and water worshipper, in her younger years, Trudy enjoyed boating, waterskiing, and traveling, and was a member of the Capital City Ski Team. Trudy was an accomplished musician and pool player, gardener, avid reader, and mental health advocate. Drawn to the beauty of northern Wisconsin, Trudy made many wonderful memories with her daughter and family at her father’s home in Lake Tomahawk. In her later life, she enjoyed attending daily fitness classes at the senior center and thrift shopping. She was a member of the Women of the Moose, Madison Chapter 291, for over 20 years. Trudy is survived by her daughter, Melissa Arvold; three grandchildren, Paris, London and Madison; five siblings, Bruce (Lois) Arvold, Vickie (Rick) Draeger, Craig (special friend, Teresa Jelinek) Arvold, Jeffrey Arvold and Kristi Elvord; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Trudy will be fondly remembered for her feisty sense of humor, strong faith, and for being a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt. She was preceded in death by her parents, Norman and Marjorie Arvold. “Healing takes time, and asking for help is a courageous step.” Trudy was courageous.
