Timothy L Frazier

MADISON-Timothy L. Frazier, age 65, of Madison, passed away on Sunday, Dec. 3, 2017, at St. Mary's Hospital due to complications following surgery to remove a brain tumor. He passed peacefully, surrounded by his family. He was born on May 21, 1952, the son of Bliss and Mary Ellen (Droberg) Frazier. When Tim was 18, he was diagnosed with his first brain tumor but managed to beat the odds and successfully underwent treatment; he always considered the years he had after that as a gift from God. A Madison native, Tim graduated from Madison West High School and attended Michigan Technological University, UW-Madison, and MATC. Tim had a truly inspiring work ethic, making his living as a structural detailer for Marshall Erdman and Associates for 35+ years. He was very proud of the buildings he worked on, especially hospitals and clinics. An avid gardener, Tim particularly liked hostas and featured them around his yard. If the weather was nice and you stopped by for a visit, it was a safe bet that you could find him out back working in the yard, his signature Tilley hat on his head. Tim loved his Badgers and Packers, and would get extremely animated while watching games. One of his favorite phrases while watching sports (and in general) was an abrupt “Trivia question for you…” followed by a question he may or may not have known the answer to. He’d either share some obscure piece of knowledge, or when you said you didn’t know, he’d say he didn’t know either and that’s why he was asking. As much as he enjoyed staying home and working in the yard or watching sports, Tim also enjoyed traveling and going on cruises; he especially loved Alaska and anywhere with mountains. Tim was also a man of great faith, serving as a deacon and in many other capacities at Bethel Lutheran Church. Most recently, Tim was highly involved with the Bethel Food Pantry where he enjoyed volunteering and serving with his wife. Tim is survived by his wife, Cheryl; sons, Bryan (Niki) and Mark (Melissa); brother, Larry (Pat); brother-in-law, Mike (Llew) Ellis; in-laws, Les and Bev Ellis; nephews, Larry (Debbie) and Darrow (Vicki) Frazier; and dear friend, David Coe.  He was preceded in death by his parents. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, Dec. 9, 2017 at 11 am at GUNDERSON FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 5203 Monona Dr., with Pastor Bill White presiding.  Visitations will be held at the funeral home on Friday, Dec. 8, 2017 from 4-7 pm and on Saturday from 10 am until the time of the service.  The family extends their sincere gratitude to Dr. Lozier and the SSICU nurses and other staff at St. Mary's Hospital for their compassionate care of Tim and his family.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Bethel Lutheran Youth Group or Olbrich Gardens.
