Obituary
Lodi-Kenneth E. Kearney, age 88, of Lodi, peacefully passed away surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, October 22, 2017. He was born on November 27, 1928, in Madison, WI, the son of Ervin and Milda (Thorkelson) Kearney. He married Karen Corliss on March 1, 1990 in Madison, WI. Ken graduated from Madison East High School and earned his bachelor’s degree from the UW-Madison. He was a veteran of the US Army having served in Panama during the Korean War and was very proud of his service and honoring the flag. Ken founded Kearney Associates in 1968 and was joined by his wife Karen in 1988. He loved the Lodi area and its people. He was a member of St. Thomas Catholic Church, Lodi Rotary Club and Lodi American Legion Post 216. Ken enjoyed the outdoors and observing wildlife after being an avid hunter in his youth. He also loved "games of chance", his "firecracker" dog, Ian and debating politics. Ken liked watching Wisconsin sports and was a recent convert to Dancing with the Stars. Above all, he loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
In addition to Karen, his wife of 27 years survivors include his three sons, Kevin (Kathy), Todd (Susan), Patrick (Robert); his stepdaughter, Catherine Sendelbach; two stepsons, David Gartland, Bill (Julie) Gartland; 17 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren; his sister, Darlene Smith; and other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Barbara Schlobohm and brother, Ron Kearney.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Thomas Catholic Church, 651 S Main St., Poynette, at 11:00 am on Thursday October 26, 2017, with Fr. Francisco Higuera and Fr. Paul Eruva concelebrating. Burial will be in St. Patrick's Catholic Cemetery, Lodi. Visitation will be held at Gunderson Lodi Funeral Home from 5:00 pm until 7:30 pm on Wednesday, October 25, 2017, with a rosary service at 7:30 pm and may also call at St. Thomas Catholic Church from 10:00 am until the time of the service on Thursday. I went to Sanderson school with Ken-known to all of us as Buster-Loved that whole family.Erv was my first cousin and we all spent good times together.So sorry for your loss-Dorothy Brassington

My deepest sympathies to you Karen, Kevin, Todd, and Pat. I remember Ken as a wonderful, steady, and supportive man. Around me he was always soft spoken, slow to temper, and a calming influence. I have nothing but the fondest of memories for my Uncle Ken.
