Lawrence Morrissey

MADISON- Lawrence “Larry” Morrissey, age 70, of Madison, passed away on Friday, Oct. 20, 2017. He was born on Aug. 5, 1947, in Madison, the son of John and Bonnalyn (Stigen) Morrissey. He married Loyce (Capps) Morrissey in 1969 in Madison. Larry graduated from UW Madison. He worked as a technician before retiring. Larry was a voracious reader who had a love for knowledge, for sharing knowledge and nurturing, even spending time tutoring UW athletes. He loved animals and nature and enjoyed many camping trips with his wife and family. Larry was musically gifted, he taught choir and sang in barbershop quartets for many years. Larry is survived by his son, John (Wendy) Morrissey of Cross Plains; brother, Jay (Roxanne) Morrissey of Sun Prairie; stepdaughter Debra (Bill) Noltner of Monona; nephew Jay and niece Molly; and grandchildren Marisol, Liam, Lucas, Michelle, Max, and Kelly. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Loyce; and brother, Kevin Morrissey. Memorials may be made to St. Jude's Children's hospital.
