Jo was well ahead of her time and had a profound effect on my life. The world lost a funny, proud, smart and gutsy lady. There are so many wonderful memories growing up across the street from you. My sympathy to you all.

Thank you Jo for all you taught me. To this day I never wear open toed shoes to work and I respect my elders. Just two of the many lessons learned in Branch 14. Lunches at your house were always fun. I will miss your smile and the good times had by all. You will remain in my heart always.

Interested in her history as a "Young Progressive" at UW Madison. My father (George Hunt) was in the Young Progressive Club at UW Madison a couple years before her. The club included members former governors Gaylord Nelson, John Reynolds, and Roland Day former state Supreme Court Justice. Difficult to find/preserve history of this club and Progressive Party. Some folks need to make this history happen. Maybe the La Follette Institute of Public Affairs at UW Madison orthe State Historical Society. Thank you for her public service.

Gail, Dale, and Jill --
My sincere condolences on the loss of your mom. What a life she made for herself! It was fascinating to read about the pieces of her life of which I had no idea. Your mom was a great neighbor and friend to the Mays. Some memories from one of the younger Mays: the hot chocolate machine you had IN YOUR HOUSE, Oreo cookies (we never got Oreos), snowmobiling, tobogganing down your hill, fun Brownie activities with your mom. Hugs to all of you.
